Michał earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Warsaw in 2018, where his early research focused on olefination reactions in prof. Michał Barbasiewicz laboratory. Since then, he has developed a dual expertise in photoelectrochemistry (specifically tungsten trioxide photoanodes) and coordination chemistry. As a member of the Small Molecules Activation Laboratory, Michał completed both his Master’s and PhD, focusing on the development of novel superacidic cobalt(II) salts with weakly coordinating anions. These reactive species may act as activators for cycloaddition and polymerisation reactions. Beyond the lab, Michał is a dedicated educator, sharing his expertise through practical chemistry classes in primary school. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, mushroom picking, and hiking in the mountains.
